چکیده
Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is a drought tolerant oilseed crop with the highest oleic acid content, which isyet to be explored for its hybrid vigour. Therefore, present study was carried at Sri Karan Narendra AgricultureUniversity, Jobner, Jaipur, Rajasthan during 2019–20 and 2020–21 combining ability 11 seed yieldand attributing traits in 10 parents their 45 crosses sesame. The effects of general andspecific on morpo-biochemical attributes cultivars were studied utilizing half-diallel cross. Theexperiment conducted using randomized blocks design (RBD) 3 replications under different environmentalconditions. Significant variations detected among all recorded F1 generation also showed significant differences attributes. GCA (General Combining Ability)/SCA (Specialized Ability) variance ratio found less than one, indicating that non-additive gene action predominated tested RT–346, TKG–22, RT–372 RT–351 emerged as good combiners yield per plant environmental conditions. RT–346 × RT–351, TKG–22 RT–372, RT–103 specific cross combinations oil content. Incorporating hybrids high SCA into multiple crossings could beneficial strategy improving production content

Evaluation of Traits Related to Drought Stress in Sesame (sesamum Indicum L.) Genotypes
In order to evaluate traits related to drought stress in eight sesame (sesamum indicum L.) genotypes, two experiments were carried out in randomized complete design with three replications in the field of the Research Station of College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Iran. The two experiments differed with respect to their irrigation regimes. Yield related traits (number of days to maturati...
متن کاملphysiological and Biochemical responses of different sesame (sesamum indicum) genotypes under salinity stress
Sesame seeds are a good source for food and health due to their protein and unsaturated fatty acids and secondary metabolites such as lignans. Soil and water salinity is one of the most important factors limiting the growth of this crop. By examining the physiological reactions related to salinity tolerance among different landraces and cultivars, tolerant and sensitive cultivars can be selecte...

This study aimed to investigate the floral biology and pollination requirements of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.), cultivar CNPA G2. The study was carried out at Barbalha, State of Ceará, and consisted of two phases: floral biology and pollination requirements. Flowers were observed as for time of anthesis, lifespan and stigma receptivity, and were applied the following pollination treatments: ope...
متن کاملGenetic Divergence in Sesame (sesamum Indicum L.) Landraces Based on Qualitative and Quantitative Traits
Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is one of the world’s oldest oil crops and has been cultivated in Asia since ancient times. The breeding potential of the germplasm accessions held in PGRP gene-bank has hardly been exploited to date. This study was carried out to evaluate the phenotypic variability in the local sesame genotypes using 16 qualitative and quantitative traits. A total of 105 sesame acce...
متن کاملSesame (Sesamum indicum) Response to Postemergence-directed Herbicide Applications
Field studies were conducted from 2006 to 2010 under weed-free conditions in south Texas and in the Texas High Plains to determine sesame tolerance to applied postemer‐ gence-directed herbicides. Injury was greatest when herbicides were applied to 15 cm of the main stem compared to herbicide applications made to 5 cm of the main stem height. Glyphosate at 0.84 kg ae/ha and pyrithiobac-sodium at...
